Shock Out has a nickname for Richie Spice called "The Five Star Reggae General". In 2004 his album "Spice In Your Life" was called one of reggae's best releases by 'The New York Times'. Born on September 8th, 1971 as Richell Bonner in St. Andrew, Jamaica, Spice has literally grown up around reggae. His older brother, Pliers, is co-author along with Chaka Demus of the dancehall anthem, "Murder She Wrote". Spice's other brother, Spanner Banner, not only has written hit songs such as "Life Goes On", but is also on the same record label as Richie Spice called Fifth Element. Last but not least is well known dancehall deejay Snatcher Dog, another brother of Riche Spice. Adding to his family's contributions to reggae, Richie Spice wrote the hit "Earth Run A Red" that seemed to have instantly hit the charts in 2004. It was actually Spice's previous album released in 2000 called "Universal", that held "Earth A Run Red" for the first time. Although well taken, that single laid low for close to five years before it was re-released by Spice's current label, Fifth Element, and promoted all the way to the top of the charts. Spice is no "One Hit Wonder" either. His song "Marijuana", also featured in "Spice In Your Life", is yet another worldwide-reggae-anthem of today. There is word of a new album to drop from Richie Spice later on this year. The signs are clear with new hit singles such as chart topper "Youths A So Cold", "Mind Of A Me", "Devil", and "Earth Alert". Shock Out! -Adam Arredondo
