DJ PAUZE - one half of dubble P productions
In 1989 I got addicted unknowingly to Records & Turntables, seeing a dj at a family wedding he let me play a tune, from then on i started to collect music and dream about having my own big collection of tunes and equipment. I got into the rave scene in 1991/92 hearing dj's like Jack Master Jay, dj Rush , dj Ratty , dj Sy , dj Hype , Ratpack , Randall , Mickey Finn + many more and at the end of 1995 I first used turntables thanks to The Outfit (James & Dan) I debuted at Kimberley Youth Centre, Kimberley, Nottingham. Seeing everyone dancing and enjoying themselves to my dj set gave me the confidence to search for more dj plays and in 1997 I played many student houseparties in Lenton and around Nottingham . Then in 1998 from these parties I was asked to dj at The Bomb, Notttingham and in 1999 I headlined a night for Sauce Promotions with M.C Spider at The Lost Weekend, Nottingham . Finding it difficult to break in to the local dj scene, I worked with a friend (Duncan) to set up a night called Zero Tolerance - 1999-2003; the idea behind the night was to help local djs who could not get dj plays anywhere to break in to the scene. From there we went on to do many club nights/private parties; many of them were unpaid, as it's all about the love of music, not about the money. I have also dj'd in a nuclear bunker in Fife , Scotland , at a night called Defcon 3, and at St Andrews university, Scotland in 2003 ( including a stop the war party)
In 2004, I was a guest on the simon vinyl junkie radio show on Unique FM, playing a variation of reggae and ragga (mix cds available on my website soon). My main genre is Jungle/Drum&Bass but I also mix and scratch reggae/ragga and occasionally hip-hop.
December 6th 2006 i started my own Reggae/ragga radio show on local underground station - Unique F.M (see my blogs for details) You can hear me every Thursday evening after 5:30pm. The show is two hours long and consists of mainly reggae (roots&lovers) i am also planning to work with Shockout Radio (www.shockout.com) more details coming soon.....
